Hi Friends!
As you may know, I retired from my 28 year government career last month and have dedicated my time now to working on all issues related to lipedema. As a part of that change to work that fills my personal passion, I decided to change out my office from kind of a dreary jail-like appearance to one that’s more in tune with the vibes I want to put out into the universe.
I moved in a dreamy blue couch, a sparkly mirror, a picture of my grandmother as a child, some fun sayings, and some giant yellow sunflowers. Then I went hunting for more art that normalizes ladies with lipedema by sharing what our legs really look like. I found a few pieces on Etsy to add some cheer to the place and have started placing them on the walls. To begin with, I picked three pieces, two of which are on my fun gallery wall.
I get such a little smile on my face when I take a minute and appreciate the art and the artist for this little bit of happy that I thought I’d share with you. Here’s my gallery wall as it is in it’s closer-to-ready state.
And here’s a link to the artist’s work on Etsy. I have other pieces in my office like some colorful lady coffee cups and a painting by Bottero (you may see this in the gallery). I’m not going to go crazy collecting lipedema lady art, but I am going to buy the things that make my heart sing. I’m on the lookout for a cool little sculpture that I can actually afford. I love that artists will show what women really look like in art. It helps in making us all feel like we seriously are not alone.
