Lipedema Friendly Outfits – Create In-Style Looks with a Versatile Maxi Skirt

Hi friends!

As I continue my looks for Fall 2023, I’m happy to see on sites like Pinterest that maxi skirt outfits are very on trend this season.  While I do try to make a lot of outfits that use my compression leggings as the base, I also love maxi skirts because they’re comfortable and they allow me to build a variety of cute looks on top of it without thinking about how my legs will look.

What I’ve done is actually copied a couple of looks I saw on Pinterest with a very budget friendly ($19.95) skirt to demonstrate how versatile adding one piece to your wardrobe can be.  I believe you could do a lot more too, by using pops of color, cardigans, and definitely by changing out shoes and accessories.

My Looks:

I started by adding in a fitted boatneck top, then a cream colored jacket that I already owned, and then BAM, that golden chain belt.  I love all three looks that take this from super casual to super Boss Babe.

The top I used is one I would not wear without my waist high compression that helps smooth out my tummy and hide my little mid-life secret (lol!), but I love the way it looks with my compression on for sure!  I already owned the blazer in my photo and I bought the belt at CATO for a different outfit, but I’ve linked to something similar on Amazon to get you started in your search.

This look is actually ALL over Pinterest right now for Fall 2023 in all kinds of variations.

My Look:

To get this super put together, yet casual look, I’ve taken the skirt (over compression), and styled it with the most basic $8 tank top, a long necklace, brown belt, shoes and bag, and just thrown an open denim shirt on top of it.  When you put all of these pieces together, intentionally adding accessories, it really makes for an “I meant to do this” look. The tank is from Kohls, T-strap leather shoes are by Munro American (they’re OLD), and everything else is from Amazon or Kohls.

Here’s the actual belt.  They sell them up to a 58″ waist), along with a similar but super budget-friendly bag and a similar top.

The next look is another really popular style featuring a turtleneck sweater over a maxi.  I think you could do a lot with this look to by changing shoes to boots or trying on a belt over it.  I wanted the ultra-comfortable, sitting-by-the-fire-drinking-coffee feel, so I left it open and flowy.  This particular sweater is deliciously soft and makes me want winter right now.

I hope this helps you to get some ideas to buy one skirt and add things you already own to switch it up and stay on trend, while feeling confident about your legs this fall and winter.  I really enjoyed doing this post for you!  If you do any of these looks, drop me a pic in email at legslikemine@gmail.com and I’ll share it on my socials!

Happy Fall, Ya’ll!
