Hi friends!
I’ve been wanting to share a red dress post with you for a while and I finally found what I was looking for, after looking at SO many pictures of what Oprah wears. It turns out a lot of her formalwear that she wore when plus size involved off the shoulder designs. It turns out that EVERY woman has pretty shoulders, regardless of her size, and off the shoulder styles are a great way to provide some arm coverage while having the confidence of some kind of a sleeve. And I found one on XPlusWear’s website that I adore. In red.
Did you know there are numerous research studies that talk about the power of women wearing red? Oh yes, people will treat you differently when you wear red more than any other color. I highliy recommend owning a red dress for when you need power.
What I love about this dress is that I was able to pair it with a jacket for a headshot, although I might have to do a little photoshop to cover up the low cut if I want to use it for, ya know, a real job.
And then I paired it with this houndstooth pancho from Amazon for a little dress-down. And I still got a little sugar from my hubby – that red, see?
We all deserve to have clothes that make us feel good, and that we can go to a fancy event in. At $42, this one was worth the investment. I hope this inspires you to go grab a pop of color for yourself, and show those shoulders!
Take care!
Susan
I’ve paired this dress with Czalus summer weight compression leggings, and my trusty David Tate chelsea boots. (I love Chelsea style boots for my ankles because there’s elastic on both sides of the upper, allowing ample room for me to fit my ankles in. David Tate’s brand also carries XW in sizing up to a 13, so this works for me for multiple occasions.)
