My New Book, Jeans on a Beach Day, is off to the Presses!

Jeans on a Beach Day: a book for the beautiful woman hiding her legs.

Hello friends!  I wanted to share some great news with you.  My new book, especially for women with lipedema, is off to the presses!

It’s been a crazy few weeks off writing, editing, re-editing, and working with my husband on the cover design (thank you Rob).  I’ve been gathering quotes, stories and pictures from some of the women in the lipedema community for some time now, and have sprinkled them in between my own story and experience, as well as pointers to a handful of resources available on the web.  I’m really happy with how my first book has turned out. I learned so much along the way and am really grateful for the experience.

One thing that caught me off guard when I was putting everything together, is how emotional I became at times when I was reading stories like mine, quotes of regret and anger, and then tales of hope.  It really got me when I saw myself in others, and sometimes when I heard things that I had chosen not to emotionally respond to at the time in my own life, resonating in others’ stories.

I believe this is the first in a series of books that I’ll complete as a labor of love and passion for women like me.  I hope you enjoy it!

The book will be available, free to in person attendees of the Fat Disorders Resource Society conference coming up in Cleveland April 22, and will also release on Amazon in paperback and ebook format to coincide with the conference.  I’ll make announcements here and on social media, so keep watching.

Many special thanks to Kasi, Debra, Jana, and Mina for their personal stories that were selected for the book, and also to my friend Brenda Viola for writing a beautiful and heartfelt foreward.  i look forward to you all seeing yourselves in print!

Tomorrow I’ll catch back up on my lipedema friendly outfits of the month (really for March), and boy do I have a good one for you!  Looking forward to the photo shoot and posting this one!

Be well friends, and than you all for your support and love!

Susan
