OK, I Did Buy a Pair of Sensible Shoes (Boots, Actually!) That Don’t Make Me Cry Because They’re So Ugly…

Last week I posted about when I had to make the switch to Sensible Shoes, and I cried really hard when they all came in the mail.  Because all of them, I mean ALL of them are just ugly, and orthopedic looking.  Like most of them were made to wear with knee high panty hose rolled down to the ankle, ya know?  I got over it, because they just feel so good.

But I forgot about the boots!  I bought these Drew boots, and yes, I hated them.  I put them on a shelf for a year until one day it was cold and I thought well shoot, everyone’s wearing ugly boots today, no one will notice.

These boots have zippers on BOTH sides, so you can hide the fact that they don’t zip all the way up if you have lippy legs.  OK, that’s a little win. And they came in a 13WW – a bigger win.  And they do, actually look kind of cool with jeans – you know when you roll that bottom cuff up a little to look like you know what’s trendy? Yeah, I mean, they look “on purpose” for an edgy girl look.  And darn it if they aren’t just super comfortable after all, and why did I go a whole year hating them?

I wore them this week with my BioFlect leggings and a dress shirt.  My mom has lipedema and can’t find boots either – she usually wears flip flops year round.  Guess what, she said she would wear them, so I’m going to grab her a pair, because I do lover her and feel he pain of being bootless.

So here you are, my Drew Boots that I used to Hate but Now I love.  The backs still look orthopedic, but in an, “I meant to do that,” kind of way. Oh, sometimes airport security makes me take them off even in the TSA precheck line, thought you’d want to know.
