Hi Friends, and Happy New Year!
Wow, do I have tremendous news. I retired after working for the same government agency since 1995, on a disability retirement due to lipedema and hypermobility. In the position I was in, massive stress, nonstop meetings, and multi-multi tasking were the norm, and that level of stress was having a pretty significant impact on my legs. My dislocations were happening more than daily and I had been dealing with flareups on the regular. It was time, but it was so disappointing that I literally got a one day notice to retire after it was approved. It’s over, I’m retired. I had cake today at my mother in laws and I’m moving on. I had some fantastic friends at work, and I’ll miss them terribily, but I have to do what the universe has been pushing me towards for a couple of years now, and it’s LegsLikeMine. Because we matter, and we need funny, smart, strong, vocal women like us to normalize our condition, get treatment, share information, and fight ableism. You matter.
So as I move into this passion work full time, with the gift of focus (just say no to multitasking), I have a few dots to connect for you. Today I’m sharing that I’ve had a YouTube channel now for a couple of years. It is located here: LegsLikeMine – YouTube. My channel 100% dedicated to women with lipedema, and I discuss therapies, clothes, footwear (of course), awareness, product reviews, and I go in daily detail of recovery of three lipedema reduction surgeries. If you haven’t already subscribed to my channel, now’s a great time to do that. I plan to up the content now that I have more time to dedicate to this cause.
Sending all the love, and forgiveness and light to the world so I can clear my energies and focus on what I’m meant to do. In the meantime, enjoy today’s video and the upcoming Lipedema Friendly Outfits that I’ll be posting shortly.
Take care of yourselves!
Susan
