So if you follow my antics on social media, you know I swim as many days as I can because it’s gentle exercise I can really do without overdoing it. It’s fantastic compression and great for encouraging lymphatic flow. Someday I will measure my legs before and after swimming – I’m convinced that they literally shrink during an hour in the water.
And I’m a giant kid – I love snorkeling and jumping in, and standing on my head, so it makes total sense that we put in a pool during COVID times so I could get all these great things in for my physical and mental health.
On the support boards, women are consistently asking for advice on a good bathing suit. I’m sharing with you the aquatard that I’ve owned and worn very regularly for FOUR years. I love it so much. Last year, this bad boy took me snorkeling on Waikiki Beach and wave jumping in Cozumel, in addition to hundreds of hours in my own pool. It’s got another year in it!
I also own the long swim shorts and two tankinis from Junonia, and I think they’re so cute. I’ll have to share with you my other tankini someday. These things have been through the wringer with me, especially when I was having to go to the YMCA to swim. I literally put them in a machine that’d wring them out after every class, and I swear they all still look new.
What I love more than the quality though is the confidence that comes with these longer suits. I put them on, and then go swimming. No cover up, no hiding my legs behind a towel. I just go. And EVERY time I’m in public with the aquatard, someone asks me where I got it.
I’m planning to grab a pair of their capris this summer, not really because I’m scared to show my legs, but for those colder mornings when normal people wouldn’t swim. At least I can go outside warm, then freeze on my way back in! (I did swim on Christmas and New Years Days this last year!). I can’t wait to share those with you too. Enjoy!
